Portugal-based Omniflow has introduced a hybrid solar-wind streetlighting platform that turns a standard pole into an energy, lighting, and data hub. The Omniled series combines on-board generation, batteries, and smart controls to power LED luminaires, wireless connectivity, sensors, and even compact EV charging from a single structure. How Does Omniflow’s Hybrid Solar-wind Streetlight Work?
Omniflow’s Omniled poles integrate high-efficiency SunPower Maxeon back-contact solar cells, a small wind turbine, maximum power point tracking, LED luminaires, and a dedicated battery pack inside an IP55-rated enclosure. The controller prioritizes locally produced renewable energy and only draws from the grid when wind and solar are not sufficient, which helps cities cut grid consumption and peak demand.
The Omniled 07 model uses a 60 W (peak) PV module, a 100 W wind generator (rated at 11 m/s), and a 500 Wh C10 battery.
